The Importance of Attending Bridal Events

Besides online blogs and magazines, attending bridal shows are a great way for engaged couples to get to know what is available in the wedding market at the local level, and figure out what are the current industry trends. It is also a great opportunity for them to meet with wedding and event professionals in person, see sample works, get educated about the different phases of planning a wedding and of course, to get ideas. July, August and September 2010 were "bridal show months" for W Drapings Florida. We participated and collaborated in about six or seven bridal and wedding related events in and around the Central Florida area; from big bridal shows and small bridal open houses, to wedding and event networking luncheons.

In a couple of occasions we had the opportunity to install our custom ceiling drapings at the beautiful Highland Manor in Apopka, where we were able to showcase our drapes to wedding planners, engaged couples and corporations. As you see in the images below, we combined our classic white drapes with a soft touch of gold chiffon to add texture and a little bit of contrast to the space.

Custom chiffon backdrops and bridal walls have been popular lately too. This summer, we installed and draped elegant custom backdrops for two bridal fashion shows taking place in Tampa, Florida. One was for Your Wedding TV Bridal Show at the Hilton Carillon Park in St. Pete and the other one was for the Sophisticated Bridal Showcase at the Marriott Waterside Hotel, which was organized by Frederick Smith from Sophisticated Gents.
 

Another great wedding related event in which we recently participated was The Bridal Ball, event hosted at the beautiful Lake Mary Events Center and organized by the talented Tamuel Cowart and Chad Pilster. This one in particular was not a typical bridal show, it was in fact a design and decor showcase;  so successful that that they are already starting to plan another one for next year.

Just days later, a small wedding industry luncheon for The Perfect Wedding Guide took place at the Westin Lake Mary in Lake Mary, Florida for which we decorated with custom chiffon ceiling treatments and a custom chiffon backdrop. And last but not least, the Minerva Bridal Show at the Rosen Plaza Hotel to which we installed the ceiling draping and decorated the hotel's own booth at the foyer.

On all of these events, we met a lot of couples soon to be married, went to many reception venues and had lots of inquiries regarding our creative services. Custom Chiffon Backdrop: Summer Wedding Reception at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

A couple of Fridays ago I was in Houston, Texas finishing a meeting with a client. Towards the evening, I got a call from my parents asking me what I had plan for that weekend and at the same time they were asking me if my husband had already left work for the day. I answered them saying that Scott had left to Portland, Oregon to attend the wedding of his best friend and that I was going to have the weekend for myself. Immediately after I told them that, they offered me to buy me a plane ticket to Orlando, Florida to visit them for the week. At the beginning I was hesitant from accepting their invitation, but within an hour or so, I said yes and flew to MCO the next day.

Thirty minutes after I landed at the City Beautiful I went straight to work "on site" at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort (specifically inside the Butler Ballroom) to install a gorgeous chiffon backdrop at the wedding reception of Erica and David. It had been over a year since I worked on location and it was so exciting to just be there in person... I work so hard every week on W Drapings Florida but mostly with logistics and a lot of office and behind the scene stuff that very rarely I get to install or assist my mom and dad draping weddings and events in and around Central Florida. I was soooo happy to be there!

The Rosen Shingle Creek Resort has been opened to the public for more than a year (if not two) and I had never visited it before. It is so beautiful, their staff is fantastic and the architect did a really good job in designing the ballrooms. While my father and I were installing the chiffon backdrop we got to spend time with the team of Mon Cheri Wedding Services whom provided the gorgeous flowers to the wedding reception (you can see some in the images accompanying this post). The people of Soundwave Entertainment were setting up their lights and music equipment as we were finishing our own set up. I was just so happy all afternoon, I have always enjoyed seeing how all the different aspects of an event get put together quickly and successfully hours before the party starts.

We did not get to meet the bride and groom in person, but we know for sure that they had a wonderful wedding ceremony and a fabulous wedding reception, and that their guests had fun too. Towards the end of the night, my father arrived to the wedding reception venue to break down the chiffon backdrop and caught some guests taking pictures of themselves in front of it, which was cool because our piece did not only served as a backdrop to the sweetheart table but it also worked great as a guest and bridal wall.

Wedding Decor: Custom Ceiling Treatments and Chiffon Backdrop at the Beautiful Highland Manor.

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to decorate a wedding at the beautiful Highland Manor in Apopka, Florida. Our custom chiffon ceiling treatments were perfect for the size of the venue and helped to emphasize the beauty of its architecture and the decorative chandeliers that give so much charm to the space.

Throughout the years it has been amazing to see different kinds of reactions from people when confronted with the beauty of ceiling drapings for the first time, but none has been as sweet as the story that I am about to tell you...

Since the moment we installed the first part of the chiffon drapes at the Highland Manor, and the people that was around for the wedding rehearsal (the bridal party, family members, vendors, etc.) saw what we were doing, they immediately started telling us that the ceiling treatments were looking great! But the minute that the mother of the bride approached one of us upon finishing installing the ceiling decor and told us whispering...

"It's magical!"

Our hearts melted... you had to see her eyes and her face expression! It was amazing! And honestly, there is nothing that makes us happier than seeing, first hand, happy clients in awe when they see the creative work that we do. That is why we continue working hard and offering the best ceiling draping and wedding chiffon available in the State of Florida.

In any given wedding the newlyweds are of course the center of attention, and besides the cake table, the sweetheart table is a big part of the reception. To make that area more elegant and to cohesively decorate the room, we placed a custom chiffon backdrop behind the sweetheart table.

W Drapings Florida: Chiffon Decoration for Central Florida Bat Mitzvah.

This past Valentine's Day, we had the opportunity to provide our services to a fabulous Bat Mitzvah that took place at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando, FL. The decoration that we provided included white chiffon ceiling draping and some side chiffon panelings. There was also a V.I.P. area that we also covered in white chiffon in which only very special guests had a chance to enjoy various privileges such a lounge area to take pictures and have fun times! Working on miztvahs decoration is always fun because there are always fun surprises and clever ways in which the celebrated arrives to the party!
